The spectacular rainbow trout of Bonaparte Lake are native to the lake. Usually called Kamloops trout, they are unsurpassed as a game fish in their leaping and fighting abilities. Trout up to 18 pounds have been caught in Bonaparte Lake. A large number of more intimate lakes in the vicinity of the Lodge are easily accessible. These lakes offer a variety of angling experiences for wild trout. Fly-fishing from float tubes or boats is popular.
